GAP

How do I access the course syllabus/materials on GAP?

  1. Please be logged into your Westcliff University Gmail Account on your Web Browser.
  2. Open up a new tab and go to the GAP Portal and log in to your GAP account. ( gap.westcliff.edu )
  3. Access your course and click on the syllabus link (you should be able to view the syllabus now)

What is GAP session timeout? What should I do if I experience the GAP timeout early?

GAP will end the session and log the user out if the user does not load a new page during the amount of time. Our GAP session timeout is set to 2 hours.

If you experience the GAP session timeout that runs on your computer earlier than 2 hours, please clear cache and cookies on your browser, it will resolve the problem.

I followed the steps mentioned above but still can’t view the course syllabus/materials?

If you still are not able to view the syllabus please try the following things below.

Please clear your cache and cookies then repeat the steps earlier (Log into WU Gmail account on browser -> GAP -> View Syllabus).

If it does not work after clearing your cache/cookies, please try another web browser and REPEAT the steps mentioned earlier. 

How many times can I resubmit my assignments on GAP?

You can resubmit your Professional and Comprehensive Learning assignments up to 3 times before the due date. After you used up the 3 resubmissions, contact your professor for more information.

What should I do if my assignment passed the due date?

Please contact the course’s professor immediately for more information.

Can I review the Quiz/Exam result after finishing?

Once you have completed the Quiz/Exam, you can only see the score when the Quiz/Exam is closed, but not the Quiz/Exam result.

In case you want to review the Quiz/Exam result, please make an appointment with your Professor via Zoom or in person (if Professor and you are on campus), they will go over the Quiz/Exam with you.

I Cannot upload the files on GAP, it is showing “Error to Connecting”. What should I do?

We recommend you to upload your PPT as a PDF file if the problem still persists with this message.

What should I do if I cannot upload the assignment on GAP, showing “File is too large to upload”?

If the file is too large to upload on GAP, you can upload it on Google Drive and submit the link to the file on GAP. Make sure the link is shared, so the professor can access and grade it.

Why can’t I see the course I enrolled this semester under “My Course”?

After you login, on GAP mainpage, search for the course you need to access using the internet browser search feature “CTRL + F” or using the “Search Courses” field.

How can I upload images into the Discussion Question(DQ) assignment?

  1. Locate Image Button on the discussion box’s menu bar.
  2. Click “Browse repositories…” button.
  3. Click “Choose File” button and select the image on your local computer, then click “Upload this file.
  4. Check “Auto size” box and add description to “Describe this image…” box, then click “Save this image”.

Why can't I access the course's documents on GAP? It is showing “Need access for the following document.”

For security purposes, Westcliff University only provides access for WU email accounts. Please sign in to your WU account before accessing WU documents.

Why can't I access the GAP portal? It is showing “The site cannot be reached…”

  1. Clear cache & cookies and wait for 5 minutes before accessing GAP.
  2. Try the incognito window to access GAP.
  3. Try a different internet browser.
  4. Wait for 30 minutes before accessing GAP due to timeout.

What should I do if GAP is down and I cannot upload the assignments on time?

Please take a screenshot of the issue, send it to your professor via email immediately and CC technology department in the email for record purposes.

Why can’t I see the submit button on TurnItIn?

The CLA2 will close at 11:59 pm on Sunday. After this deadline, you will not be able to submit any paper. Please plan ahead to turn in your paper on time.

How can I download the syllabus on GAP?

Please use the pop-up window on the right side of the syllabus. You should be able to find the download button from there.

How can I check the DQs, PAs/CLAs feedback/comments from my Professor?

Under each DQ forum, there is a “View Grades” section. Please go there to check the feedback/comments from your Professor.

For the PAs/CLAs, you would need to go directly to the TurnItIn page to view your Professor’s feedback/comments.
Please click into the PA or CLA assignment and then click on your submission.

Then please click on the icon shown below to view the feedback from the Professor.

What should I do if I cannot view the upcoming assignments because the course evaluation is locked?

Please refer to the course syllabus for all the assignments’ prompt.

Cannot access LIRN via GAP portal, it is showing “Your browser's "Block 3rd party cookies…”

Below is the instruction to disable “Block 3rd party cookies”.

  1. In the Chrome browser window, click the More icon ​ on the top right corner, then click Settings.
  2. Click Advanced at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Under Privacy and security, click Site settings.
  4. Click Cookies and site data.
  5. Unselect Block third-party cookies.

ZOOM

Cannot login to Zoom account, it is showing “Incorrect email or password.”

On the Zoom login page, choose “Sign In with Google” and login using the WU email account.

Cannot access Zoom meeting link, showing “This meeting is not valid…”

Instead of using Zoom meeting links on the GAP course, manually enter Meeting ID and Passcode on Zoom.

Does Westcliff University provide Microsoft Office?

Westcliff University provides MS Office for students to use online only. You can access the MS Office for students using the link below. Make sure to sign up using WU email address.
